Dr. Jian-Fu Zhao is a Full Professor and director of the Lab of Microgravity Multiphase Thermal Fluid Dynamics and Applications, CAS Key Laboratory of Microgravity (National Microgravity Laboratory), Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his B. Sc. degree from Tsinghua University in 1990, M. Sc. degree from Zhejiang University in 1993, and Ph. D. degree from Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering (presently Wuhan University) in 1998. His current research interests include flow structure and dynamics, heat and mass transfer, and instability in multiphase systems for space and ground applications. He has been involved in several space experiments aboard the Russian space station MIR, the Chinese recoverable satellites and the China Space Station Tiangong, and other space platforms. He is also closely joined in many projects as a principal investigator for ground-based microgravity experiments utilizing the Drop Tower Beijing, the Russian IL-76 reduced gravity plane, and so on. He has authored/co-authored more than 200 papers and 8 books/chapters, and delivered more than 40 plenary/keynote/invited lectures. Presently, he is serving as an Associate-Editor of Microgravity Sciences and Technology, member of editorial boards of 6 domestic and international academic journals, Chair/Co-Chair and/or member of orginazing/scientific committees for domestic and international conferences, as well as member of expert committees and academic societies in the relevant academic and technical fields.
