Dr. Haoshui Yu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Bioscience, Aalborg University, Denmark. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2017, specializing in process integration and optimization of organic Rankine cycle systems. Following his doctorate, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the MIT Energy Initiative. In 2020, he was awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship by the European Union, enabling him to further his research at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Dr. Yu's research lies at the forefront of chemical process systems engineering, with a primary focus on integrating and optimizing renewable energy systems, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) processes, and advanced separation technologies in biorefineries. Since founding the Chemical and Energy Process Systems Engineering Research Group at Aalborg University in 2021, he has been dedicated to developing innovative methodologies for complex system integration and design, leveraging chemical systems engineering principles to advance sustainable energy solutions. Throughout his career, Dr. Yu has collaborated extensively with leading international institutions, including MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, NTNU and DTU. His contributions to sustainable energy transitions continue to shape the future of energy systems engineering and decarbonization technologies.
