Dr. Agnimitra Biswas did his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College Silchar, India in 2001, M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from National Institute of Technology Silchar in 2007, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Silchar in 2010. His research area was Vertical Axis Wind Turbines using experimental and computational methods. Presently he is working as an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT Silchar since August 2022. He has more than 16 years of teaching and research experiences. His current research areas include hybrid renewable energy systems, vertical axis wind turbines, micro hydro-turbines, and solar thermal energy and solar passive systems. He has published more than 100 research papers in various referred national/international journals and conferences and has 4 patents to his credit. He has also authored/co-authored 14 books/chapters and delivered 9 invited lectures in different technical forums. He is an associate member of Institution of Engineers (India). He is a regular reviewer of various Energy related web of science journals. He is also the principal investigator of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) Govt. of India sponsored solar regional test center. He had won Best Research award in Wind Energy for 2021, conferred by IREDA-NIWE, and Outstanding Reviewer Award 2021, Conferred by International Journal of Green Energy. He is an Associate Editor in the section Wind Energy of Frontiers in Energy Research journal.
